One of the NetGear's Invention to boost the Wi-Fi network for the ease of use and to improve the overall quality of the existing network in your required area. NetGear WN1000RP is better termed as Wi-Fi Booster for the Internet service to eliminate all the dead spots or obstructions in your network.

Installation/Setup of WN1000RP:

There are two easy ways to set up the device. Either using the WPS or using Genie Setup Wizard.

You just need to keep in mind that during the phase of initial setup, please keep the Wi-Fi router and the Wi-Fi Booster in close proximity. Once the installation or Setup is done, then you can place the devices at the places you need them.

WPS (Wi-Fi Protected System) Setup:

Please ensure that the router has the WPS supported, then only this method works otherwise make sure to SETUP the device using Browser method.

Step 1: Plug in the device with the power socket and ensure all the connections to be tight and firm.

Step 2: Switch the power button on the Wi-Fi booster as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 3: As soon as you turn the device on, the green light will first flicker and eventually becomes Solid Green.

Step 4: when the light on the Device is stable and solid green, press the WPS button present on WN1000RP.

Step 5: Wait for next 2 to 3 minutes and after that, go ahead to press the WPS button on the Router Device.

Step 6: If everything is fine and uninterrupted, the device will show the LINK RATE Light to turn on within a few minutes after all the setup has been done.

Step 7: Once the LINK RATE light is stable and solid, you are all set to use the Internet on all your other devices. Now you can also place your Wi-Fi booster to the corner or place you require the signals.

Note: your Wi-Fi extender's or Wi-Fi Booster Username will have the extension name added to the existing name of the network.
For e.g.:
Existing Network: HomeNet
New network name: HomeNet_EXT

Genie Setup Wizard:

Step 1: As soon as all the power connections are set and the power is turned on, make sure to connect your mobile device or computer systems to the Internet via Ethernet Cable.

Step 2: Now open a browser in your computer and you should be automatically redirected to NetGear Genie Setup Wizard.

Step 3: If you are not taken to the page as mentioned above then please type the web address to reach the page.

Step 4: You will be required to enter the Username and Password which if you are the first timer then DEFAULT username is admin and DEFAULT password is password.

Step 5: Now you will land on the page giving you the list of all the already available networks around you, you can select the name of your NETWORK.

Step 6: You will now be taken to the page where it needs the Security password and security key, after this click on CONTINUE.

Step 7: Some more setting options will be available for you to make changes if needed, after all the settings being completed, you will see a similar screen. Please click on Continue.

Step 8: Now head back to the NETWORK MANAGER on your computer system and connect to the EXTENDER NETWORK being shown in the list.
