What is the procedure to reset my Wi-Fi range extender and restore it to default setting?
There are two ways by which you can reset range extender to factory default That are:
- Hardware Method:
You have to press reset button until LED and device to extender blinks. This will take 5 to 10 seconds.
Reset button is small one and being recessed. You can use pen or paperclip to press it.
Then wait until extender rebooted.
Now you have to log in using default credentials that include default username as “admin” and password as “password“.
- Software method:
Open the Add WPS Client
Then select Backup Setting page.
Over there click on ‘Erase’ button.
Extender may display pop up message such as to confirm this command.
Click ‘Yes’ to proceed or click ‘No’ to cancel this.

Why i had not received install CD along with my Netgear range extender?
Some extenders such as EX7000 does not come along with installation CD. The reason for the same is advance feature of Genie setup. Genie setup is used to install Netgear extender. User can connect with default SSID ‘NETGEAR_EXT’ through his wireless device. This will prompt you to EX7000 Web GUI, through which you can do changes as required.
